Laravel 9 Database Backup using Spatie

Hi Guys,

In this tutorial, I will learn you how database backup using spatie in laravel 9.you can easy and simply get to database backup using spatie in laravel 9.

This package through we can easily take database backup based on daily and hourly using a command line. we can also take MySQL database backup and PostgreSQL database backup from laravel application using this package.

Step 1: Download Laravel

Let us begin the tutorial by installing a new laravel application. if you have already created the project, then skip following step.

composer create-project laravel/laravel example-app

So you can follow the below steps for database backup.

Step 2: Install Package

Now, We will install spatie/laravel-backup package using the below command.

composer require spatie/laravel-backup
Step 3: Backup Configuration

The package will automatically register its service provider.

php artisan vendor:publish --provider="Spatie\Backup\BackupServiceProvider"

This is the default contents of the configuration:

Step 4: Take Backup

finally, we will take all the files and database using the below command.

Database backup is store in storage/app/back-temp.
